A couple has given a rather large gift to Kansas State University.

David and Ellie Everitt donated $3 million to the university to support a new leadership program and welcome center.

David graduated in 1975 with a degree in industrial engineering. Ellie graduated with a degree in clothing and textiles in 1973.

The Leading Change Institute will bring together leaders and scholars to discuss ideas for confronting global and everyday challenges. The institute will open in the summer of 2015.

The welcome center will be a place for students and staff to gather as well as have student career services.

David is a native of Concordia, Kansas.
