(KAKE)-- In what sounds like a script from a movie, this morning a Kansas man was able to jump from his truck before it crashed into a ravine.
Just after 10 a.m. Tuesday, a man was driving east on U-24 in Glen Elder, located in Mitchell County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, as he was approaching a bridge, the brakes on his 1978 Ford pickup failed.
The 47-year-old man from Jewell was able to jump from the truck before it crashed through the bridge barricades and into the ravine below.
He was taken to an area hospital, but his current condition is unknown. No one else was in the truck.
