Kansas Man Dies After Motorcycle Hits Deer

HARVEY COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE)-- A Kansas man is dead after his motorcycle struck a deer in Harvey County yesterday.

Shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to the 10000 block of North Hesston Road in Harvey County for the report of a motorcycle accident. Deputies arrived and found an unresponsive man laying the roadway. It appeared that his motorcycle had hit a deer.

Paramedics rushed 56-year-old Michael Rogers of Inman to a Wichita hospital in critical condition. Shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday morning, Rogers died from his injuries.

According to the Harvey County Sheriff's Office, Rogers was on his way to work at AGCO in Hesston when the accident occurred.
