Kansas June Unemployment 4.9%

TOPEKA, KS Kansas June unemployment was 4.9% up from 4.8 in May and down from 5.6% in June of 2013, an increase of 15,000 private sectors jobs in the last 12 months.

Secretary of labor Lana Gordon highlighted the fact that Kansas has increased 55,000 private sector jobs since January 2011.

There were also 9,844 initial unemployment claims in June 2014, down from 12,518 in May and down from 13,284 for May 2013.
