JETMORE, Kan. (WIBW) -- A western Kansas sheriff's deputy was arrested in connection with the death of his two-month-old son, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI). The baby died in a Wichita hospital last week.
Thirty-year-old Kody Lee Hanson was booked on the 1st Degree Murder and Felony Abuse of a Child. He is being held in the Ford Co. detention center.
The KBI said they will not be releasing any more information at this time.
The infant was found in side a home in the Hodgemen Co. town of Jetmore. The child's death is being investigated by the KBI and the Hodgemen Co. Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff in Hodgemen Co. confirmed the baby's father is a Hodgeman County deputy and is now on paid leave while the investigation is ongoing.
