Kansas Attorney General Works To Protect Consumers' Privacy

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt is working to protect consumers' privacy.

He announced Wednesday that he is proposing a bill to update the Kansas No-Call Act to cover consumers' cell phones.

The bill would also allow Schmidt's office to enforce violations against those who target cell phones registered on the federal Do-Not-Call list.

"Ultimately our goal is to be able to deliver the privacy expectations the Legislature provided to Kansans over a decade ago when it created the No-Call law in a manner that actually functions the way people use their telecommunications devices here in 2014," said Schmidt.
