Kansas Electric Coops Get Energized At Annual Meeting

The state's electric cooperatives are getting energized this week in Topeka.

The Kansas Electric Cooperatives are holding their annual meeting at Maner Conference Center.

Sessions cover such topics such as regulatory issues, pending legislation, energy efficiency and safety topics. A legislative reception was slated for Monday evening, while Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt was scheduled to address the group Tuesday.

13's Melissa Brunner was among Monday's speakers, encouraging attendees to pursue their passions in getting involved in their communities.

KEC is the statewide service organization for 29 electric distribution coops and three generation and transmission coops.
