KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) - A homicide suspect who fired at Kansas City police officers has taken his own life, authorities said Thursday afternoon.
The man had barricaded himself inside a Northland home after officers went to arrest him.
The man was suspected as being part of an effort to kidnap a man after a pound of marijuana allegedly went missing. During the attempted kidnapping on Sunday afternoon, the would-be kidnapper was killed in a struggle. A second man was in the basement tying up the homeowner, and that is believed to be the man that authorities are seeking. A woman who went with the two men to the Northland home was charged on Monday with second-degree murder.
