State officials continues encouraging Kansans to get a flu shot.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment says influenza activity is high all across the state. So far this year, influenza or pneumonia has caused or contributed to 510 deaths in Kansas. Of those, three were attributed directly to influenza.

The Centers for Disease Control says the 2009 H1N1 is the dominating strain of the influenza A virus this year.

KDHE recommends all people six months and older get a flu vaccine if they haven't already done so.
