TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- An Olathe businessman and entrepreneur is launching an Independent campaign for a U.S. Senate seat.

Greg Orman filed paperwork to enter the race for the seat currently held by Republican Pat Robert.

Orman told us he wants to end what he sees as bitter partisans who care more about pleasing the extremists and special interest that support their parties, rather than solving problems.

"What we're lacking however in Washington today is the political will to do anything about it! We seem to spend our time more trying to figure out how to gain an advantage in the next election, instead of figuring out how to solve the problem for the people of America and the people of Kansas," Orman.

As an Independent, Orman will need more than 10,000 signatures for his grassroots effort to get his name on the ballot.
