TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the MacVicar Ave. exit reopened late Tuesday night following a wreck that spilled nearly 200 gallons of diesel fuel onto the highway.

The wreck reportedly happened during rush hour when, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol officer, a tractor-trailer tried passing a snow plow.

The semi clipped the KDOT truck's plow and caused around 180 gallons of fuel to flow onto the frozen highway.

The interstate did not reopen until nearly 10:00 p.m.
