TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- From July to October, candidates for state office in northeast Kansas counties have raised more than $561,000.

Campaign finance reports filed with the Kansas Secretary of State's Office show one of the biggest money-raising races is that of the Kansas Senate District 18 seat. Incumbent Democratic Sen. Laura Kelly raised $124,707 over three months leading into the election. Her Republican challenger, former Shawnee County Sheriff Dick Barta, reported raising $62,447 in that time period.

Candidates for the state's Senate District 19 are also among top fundraisers. Incumbent Democrat Sen. Anthony Hensley reported raising $93,002, while challenger Casey Moore raised $42,222.
