TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- 1 out of 5 Americans are affected by Arthritis and on Saturday, hundreds joined forces to find a cure.
Hundreds gathered at Lake Shawnee for this years Walk to Cure Arthritis.
13's Melissa Brunner emceed the event. Breakfast was provided beforehand while organizers honored several attendees who are affected by arthritis.
Organizer and Chair of the event, Tarri Woolery who also suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis, said, "It feels great for all of us that have Arthritis. It's great support from our community, family, friends and co-workers. It is just really great to see everybody come together for the cause."
Attendees say the outpouring of support puts them one step closer to beating the disease.
