HOYT, Kan. (WIBW) -- Two Hoyt firefighters were injured when a tire on their fire tanker truck exploded on Thursday, according to the Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office.

The unidentified firefighters were changing the tire at the Hoyt Fire Station around 10:00 a.m. when the tire blew up, authorities said.

They were both taken to a Topeka hospital for treatment and are believed to be in stable condition.
