HOLTON, Kan. (WIBW) - A wreck Tuesday afternoon in Holton knocked out the power to businesses in the area.
The wreck happened just before 1:15 p.m. near Highway 16 and O road, about 3 miles west of Holton. A 2006 Chevy Tahoe left the roadway, rolled and ended up in a field. The field caught fire and burned half an acre before being extinguished.
The female driver was trapped in the vehicle. She was extricated by the Holton Fire Department. The 52-year-old woman from Soldier, Kan. was transported to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka with disabling injuries.
Power has since been restored to businesses in the area.
The accident is under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
