Highland Park Evacuated Following Fires In 3 Restrooms

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- School officials believe they know who started fires in three Highland Park High School bathrooms Tuesday.

USD 501 spokesperson Ron Harbaugh tells 13 News that trash bin fires were set in three different women's restrooms around 11:40 a.m.

Students and staff evacuated the building and were allowed to return about 30 minutes minutes later.

School officials believe they know the students involved in the incident, and are investigating the fires.

No further information was released early Tuesday afternoon.
