Two young men have been arrested after leading Jackson County Sheriff's Deputies on a high speed chase through Holton.
Around 1 P.M. officers responded to the report from an off duty sheriff's deputy of a possible impaired person driving recklessly in the Holton Walmart parking lot.
Authorities attempted to stop a White 1995 Ford Contour west of Holton on Highway K-16 but the driver continued westbound at a high rate of speed.
The pursuit ended on K-16 Highway west of H. Road to the west of Holton.
The driver, 20 year old Kyle Chavez-Majors of El Dorado was arrested on scene and booked into Jackson County Jail for fleeing and eluding, DUI, driving while suspended and reckless driving along with numerous traffic citations.
The passenger, 20 year old Michael Lee Ray Herndon of Chetopa, KS, was taken into custody for minor in consumption.
A Kansas Highway Patrol Aircraft Unit was also used for assistance.
