Manhattan, Kan. (WIBW) - Herman Cain is giving a lecture at Kansas State University in the Ballroom of the K-State Student Union in Manhattan, KS at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. The lecture is hosted by the Kansas State University College Republicans and is co-sponsored by the Diversity Program Committee (DPC) and Young America’s Foundation (YAF). Students and the public are all invited to attend this free event.

YAF is an organization based out of Herndon, Virginia and is committed to inspiring college students with the principles of individual freedom, free enterprise, and traditional values.

DPC is a part of the Kansas State University Student Governing Association and was founded primarily for the purpose to enhance diversity on the campus, which Mr. Cain provides a unique voice to promote a new perspective to students. He has one of the greatest “American Dream” stories of all time.

Mr. Cain grew up in the South during the 1950s and 1960s with hard working parents, including his father at points having to work three jobs in order to make ends meet. Due to his determination, Mr. Cain would go on to earn a master’s degree from Purdue University. At various points he worked for the Department of the Navy, the Coca-Cola Company, Pillsbury, and would be appointed CEO of Godfather’s Pizza.

Mr. Cain is now most known for his exciting presidential campaign in the 2012 Republican Primary. Never holding a prior elected office, Mr. Cain would offer his famous “9-9-9” tax plan and would soon find himself at one point as the frontrunner in national polls. This frontrunner status would mark the first time ever that a minority candidate lead national polls in a Republican Presidential Primary.

Mr. Cain continues to host his own radio show and support conservative principles, especially when it comes to the economic and government budget issues from the perspective of a successful CEO.

Parking is available to the public in the parking garage on the south end of the K-State Student Union and free parking is available just west of the old Memorial Stadium.
