TOPEkA, Kan. (WIBW) - A preliminary hearing is set for a Shawnee County corrections officer charged with aggravated criminal sodomy with a child under the age of 14.
40-year-old Aaron Kalka is scheduled to appear in court next on May 5th. In a decision Tuesday, a judge also denied a request to reduce his bond from $50,000.
Deputy corrections director Timothy Phelps previously said Kalka was a corrections specialist in the department. He is on leave without pay pending an administrative investigation.
Phelps said Kalka will be held at another Kansas jail facility since he is known in the Shawnee County jail complex.
