Rain heavy at times will move across northeast Kansas this afternoon and tonight that could lead to flooding. Severe storms are also possible through this evening with 60 mph wind gusts and hail up to the size of quarters.
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Members of the Brownback administration are in the Nation's Capital working to protect key military installations in Kansas.
Lt. Governor Jeff Colyer and the Executive Director of the Governor's Military Council, John Armbrust are in Washington, D.C. advocating for Ft. Leavenworth and Ft. Riley.
The two Kansas installations have been threatened with staff reduction plans.
Governor Sam Brownback says, "the downsizing of either bases would be a loss not just to national security, but to the economic health and well being of our state."
