TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -State leaders are looking for ways to help Kansans recover from this years drought.

Governor Brownback met with leaders and representatives from agriculture and business today and offered a few points of advice that could help keep Kansas from literally drying up.

"Don't light fires, we have a number of places with burn bans and conserve water. We have a number of places on voluntary conservation. You just don't know how long we are going to be in this. We have had some showers but our reservoirs are not getting any in-flow to them, so we could be in this for a while. Just stay vigilant and stay on top of this for a while so we have water for the full time period."

The Governor also launched a new web-based resource created for those seeking drought information. The website is drought.ks.gov
