TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)--A giant potato made its way through the capital city on Tuesday.

The Great Big Idaho Potato Truck is on a seven-month cross-country journey. During the trip, the truck will visit 72 cities in 28 states.

The truck stopped at the Kansas Children's Discovery Center. It helps raise funds and awareness for Meals On Wheels, which delivers more than one million meals each day to homebound seniors.

The potato is 28-feet long, 12-feet wide and 11.5 feet tall and travels on a 48-foot long flatbed trailer.

The potato was built in honor of the Idaho Potato Commission's 75th anniversary in 2012.
