TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) -- Clean out those medicine cabinets and safely get rid of those old prescription drugs.
The Topeka Police Department will team up with the Kansas Narcotics Officers Association and Walgreen's for a local prescription take-back day.
The event will be Saturday, March 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Walgreen's at 2101 N. Topeka Blvd.
Anyone is welcome to drop off expired, unused or unwanted prescription medications to be disposed of safely.
Walgreen's will provide a pharmacist to answer any questions regarding medications and drugs.
Note: National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration, is April 26, 2014. Statewide locations participating in that event will be announced in April.
