Gamers Score Big Points For The Community

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)__ Video gaming enthusiasts gathered at Washburn University to score big points for the community.

A Mini-cake Meltdown was held inside the Kansas room of the Memorial Union Saturday afternoon.

13's own Russ Pearman took part in the fun. Gamers battled it out on screen with games such as Super Smash Brothers, Tekken and Mortal Kombat.

The gaming event was created to provide students within the community a safe environment to enjoy gaming and positive activities for others with similar interests.

Tickets were free with a suggested five dollar donation.

The winner of Saturday's event received a 50-dollar gift card and a two day pass to the Mega-cake Meltdown event may 30th and 31st at Gamers Headquarters.
