Funeral Services Set For Woman Struck, Killed Outside Church

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Funeral services are set for a woman who was struck and killed Sunday morning outside her church.

89-year-old Geneva "Gene" Sorber of Topeka will be laid to rest 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.

Sober was killed when her husband accidentally stepped on the gas instead of the break as she got out of the vehicle.

She is survived by her husband and two children, including Annette Jackson of Jackson's Greenhouse, as well as three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel.
