Funeral Services Have Been Set For Brett Cowdin

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Funeral services are set for a popular area baseball and football coach who passed away unexpectedly.

54 year-old Brett Cowdin died Wednesday from an apparent heart attack.

Cowdin had stints coaching baseball and football at Topeka West, Highland Park, Hayden, Rossville, and Washburn Rural.

He also helmed the Topeka Golden Giants and more recently founded the Rossville Rattlers.

Funeral services for Cowdin will be held 10 am Monday at Highland Park United Methodist Church. A memorial fund is set up at Capitol Federal Savings in Brett Cowdin's name.

He is survived by a wife and five children.

A visitation was held at the Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home Sunday (11/17) from 2-6p.m.
