Friends University Honors Topekans With Special Commencement

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- College graduates from the Capital City received a special honor from Friends University.

The Topeka Performing Arts Center and the university held a local commencement ceremony for those in the Capital City.

71 adult students from the Topeka area were eligible this year. Captain Darin Scott of the Topeka Police Department, who earned a Master's Degree from the school in 2009, served as commencement speaker.

Friends University's Topeka site is located at 2820 S.W. Mission Woods Drive and offers Bachelor's and Master's Degrees for adults wanting to complete an accredited degree while balancing work and personal responsibilities.
