TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-The Topeka Metro Board has a big announcement for Topekans.

The Topeka Metro Board of Directors held their monthly board meeting Monday. 13's General Manager, Jim Ogle was also there.

The big announcement is if you have a Topeka Public Library card, you can ride the bus for free from February 4-9.

They are encouraging everyone throughout the city of Topeka to come out. Plus, there will be a special item on the bus.

"And when you get on board the bus during the month of February, you will find the 'Great Gatsby' book in paperback, which is the big read book. We want you to take it with you, read it, take it with you, lend it to a friend and bring it back and put it on the bus. So, it's kind of a moving library on the bus," said General Manager of Topeka Metro, Susan Duffy.

Topeka Metro partnered with the Topeka Public Library to make this happen. You can ride any of the 30 buses on the fixed route.
