(WIBW) - A former Riley County narcotics detective is trying to make changes to his complaint against the Riley County Police Department.

Mark Bylkas filed a civil suit in federal court against RCPD after he was fired for alleged missing cocaine evidence and other charges. A special prosecutor is deciding whether Bylkas will face criminal charges.

Bylkas filed his complaint in federal court last July. He now is asking a judge to give him more time to file an amended civil suit. The original suit claimed his firing was in retaliation for reporting misconduct among other RCPD officers.

The judge has not yet ruled on Bylkas' extension request but has a scheduling conference set for February 1st.
