Former Manhattan Mayor Announces Bid For Congress

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW-TV) A former Manhattan Mayor and City Commissioner announced he's running for congress.

Jim Sherow announced Friday that he will seek the Democratic Nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives in the First District.

The seat is currently being held by Republican Tim Huelskamp.

Sherow is a Kansas Historian at K-State, a small business owner and a Vietnam veteran.

The Hutchinson native said he decided to run to bring an end to congressman Tim Huelskamp's ineffective representation and lack of leadership.
