KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) -- A former Lawrence resident has been sentenced to slightly more than seven years in federal prison for distributing child pornography.
The U.S. Attorney's office says 27-year-old Christian Curtis, now of Hays, will also spend eight years on supervised release after finishing the prison term he received Tuesday in federal court.
Curtis pleaded guilty in January. He was living in Lawrence when federal agents began investigating in March 2010 after accessing more than 1,000 images that were traced to Curtis's computer.
Investigators said Curtis posed online as a teenage girl to solicit young boys to perform sexual acts.
