TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Arson is suspected after a fire tore through a home in NW Topeka Friday evening.
Crews were called around 6:45 p.m. to the home at 944 NW Lower Silver Lake Rd.
Officials tell 13 News family members were removing items from the house earlier in the day after the death of a relative.
The family had a dumpster next to the house, which caught on fire and spread to the home.
Officials believe the fire was intentionally set, causing damage to some of the home's siding.
No one was inside the residence at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
