Field Naming At Bettis Sports Complex Approved By Commissioners

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Shawnee County Commissioners approved the naming of a field at the Bettis Sports Complex.

Lake Shawnee's Gopher #2 Ball Diamond will be named the "Jim Parrish Field," in return of a contribution of $50,000 over 10 years.

Parks and Rec Director John Knight told commissioners, he started to look at people willing to put their names on fields around the area.

The commitment to naming a field at the Bettis Sports Complex is $50,000.

Betty Griner, Financial Administrator told commissioners the money wouldn't go to the county, but rather the Parks and Rec Endowment Fund.
