TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A tradition since the 1930s, the opening of the farmers market has become a signal of spring's return since.

The farmers market begins downtown on April 12 with all your favorite local vendors.

From green peppers and onions to fresh melon and homemade jellies, you can enjoy outdoor shopping starting at 7:30 a.m. through noon. The market is at 12th and Harrison, just south of the judicial building.

The market runs every Saturday through November.
