TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- Chicken wings, chips, dip and big screen T.V.'s all create the perfect backdrop for Superbowl Sunday, however this Superbowl game is unlike any other.

This game is one for the record books.

"For the last 2 weeks we have been able to anticipate having this football game with 2 players. It really is so much pride in Washburn," said a man who followed both player's careers since high school, Bruce Steinbrock, Assistant Director at Washburn.

"It's pretty cool for any school, especially Washburn and for the size of Washburn, it's pretty neat, "said Brock Luke, Washburn's Defensive Coordinator.

"It's amazing. It's once in a lifetime!" said local fan and Washburn Alumnus President, John Haverty.

Many local Topekans personally know San Francisco 49'ers, Michael Wilhoite, and Baltimore Ravens', Cary Williams.

Scott Crimmins, the father of a Washburn football player, says this game will be a memorable one.

"My son actually bought some shoes from Michael Wihoite days before he got called to go play in the pros and we remember commenting on how big he was and then 'wow' got called to the NFL," said Crimmins.

Topekans undoubtedly will be happy with the outcome.

"Either way an Ichabod will win!" said Brock Luke.
