Family Remembers Homicide Victim, Says "He Was There For Everyone"

Family and friends gathered Saturday afternoon to celebrate the short life of a loved one.

Dozens showed up outside the home at 620 SW Tyler for a vigil in honor of 19 year old Patrick Lightbourn jr., who was shot and killed early Friday morning.

Many of those in attendance reflected on Patrick's love for sweets. Those close to him shared with 13 News who Patrick really was.

"Some people are painting a bad picture of this boy and he's a wonderful kid. He helped everyone and was there for everyone. He had a rough life. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time," said Patrick's Grandmother Lois Marcum. "He was not into drugs, not a gang member and if anybody would know that it would be me, his grandmother," said Marcum.

A memorial fund is set up for the family of Lightbourn Jr. at Bowser Johnson Funeral Home located at 723 SW 6th st.
