TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Authorities were called to investigate potentially explosive material at a Northeast Topeka recycling facility Tuesday.
According to the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office some old blasting caps were found in a coffee can at Bailey's Recycling and Scrap Metal, located at 4120 NE Seward.
The caps and can were debris from a demolished house, according to officials.
A worker at the recycling facility called the Sheriff's Office to investigate after the items stuck to a magnet being used to separate metals.
Blasting caps are generally used to detonate larger explosive devices.
