EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW)-- An Emporia State student was found dead Thursday, according to university officials.

Few details about the unattended death of Emporia native Jacob Golden, 23, have been released, but university officials told 13 News Wednesday that Golden's body was not found on university property.

An autopsy has been scheduled.

Golden was a senior in the communication and theatre department and was set to graduate in December.

Dr. Michael Shonrock, President of Emporia State University offered his condolences, saying,"The thoughts and prayers of the entire university community are with Golden's family and friends."

Golden's death follows the passing of Emporia student Eric Knox earlier this year.
