EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW)- The Emporia school district is considering changing the attendance and transportation boundaries. They hope to help balance enrollment at the six neighborhood elementary schools.
The district has identified eight areas where where changes to the current boundaries could alleviate class- size inequality, keep students closer to their neighborhood schools, help the district more efficiently manage transportation routes, ease bus traffic around schools designed for foot traffic and remain mindful of natural safety barriers.
Informational meetings will be held at the six elementary schools over the next three weeks. Interested parents are encouraged to attend. District personnel will be present to answer any questions.
