Mr. Collazo announces his candidacy for 7th District City Council seat.
On January 11, 2013 at 3:30 Mr. Collazo will file for the 7th district council seat.

Mr. Collazo, a Washburn School of Law graduate, is a practicing attorney who is currently in private practice. Formally, he was an assistant district attorney in Shawnee County and a law enforcement officer. He is also a military veteran, having served in Desert Storm. He serves on three not for profit boards: Topeka Habitat for Humanity, as its president, Fox Ridge Cooperative as its president and Bright Circle pre-school.

Mr. Collazo plans to support the downtown revitalization initiative and the continued work on the city’s infrastructure and recognizes its importance in Topeka’s continued growth.

Mr. Collazo is a supporter of Law Enforcement and Firefighters; he believes that they need the proper tools and equipment to do their jobs as well as salaries that reflect the nature of the job.

Mr. Collazo believes that a strong nonprofit segment is vital to the community and its growth.
