Woman Shot In South Topeka Early Wednesday

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- One woman was taken to the hospital after being shot in the foot in south Topeka early Wednesday morning, according to the Topeka Police Dept.

After talking to several people at the scene, investigators think several shots were fired into a home in the 3100 block of SE Humboldt. They believe someone in a PT Cruiser fired - an unknown amount of times.

Officers first responded to reports of shots fired in the area of SE Bryant and Golf Park around 3:45 a.m. While on the way, they were rerouted to 3129 SE Humboldt, where they found the victim, who was not identified.

Police said her injuries were not life threatening.

The investigation is still going.
