Chain-Reaction Crash Sends Truck Into Home, Driver Flees

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- A unoccupied truck slid down a hill and into a Topeka home Wednesday night.

Topeka Police say just before 6 p.m., the driver of a truck hit a car at the top of a hill on 13th and Chandler.

The driver ran off and the empty truck then rolled down the hill and into a home at the corner of Southeast Chandler and Vine.

Neighbors told 13 News they heard a loud boom. Their homes suffered minor damage.

Police say no one was hurt and they are still searching for the driver, who they say was not the owner of the truck.
