Leprechauns and the like came out to Kansas Avenue to celebrate in the activities that had most of downtown decked in green.

The luck of the Irish brought in great weather for a huge day of celebration. Even though it's not officially St. Patrick's Day, that didn't stop people from coming out and enjoying the festivities.

The events kicked off this morning with the annual Topeka bed race, where participants decorated their team beds in their company logos to see who was the fastest.

Sports Car Club of America won the bed race. They collected a trophy and $150 which they donated back to Housing Credit and Counseling. Fed-Ex came in second and Westar energy finished third.

The bed race wasn't the only event that had the streets blocked and crowded. The big St. Patty's Day parade flooded the streets with floats and had kids jumping for joy for their favorite things.

With everything going according to plan, you can't overlook the time and dedication it has taken to put this giant green bash together.

So whether it's parades, bed races, music or that famous green root beer that fills your pot at the end of the rainbow, downtown Topeka sure knows how to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
