Topeka Police Release:
This morning at 9:55 a.m., officers were called to 912 W. 4th in reference to a report of a domestic. Upon arrival, the officers attempted to make contact with the suspect when he stepped out on the front porch and displayed a gun.

The suspect then began ranting and screaming at officers and went back into the residence and barricaded himself and another individual (an adult male) in the home. At that time, the Topeka Police Department’s Response Team was activated.

After their arrival and a brief stand-off, the suspect voluntarily surrendered to police and was arrested without incident.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and any possible criminal charges will be filed at a later time.
