Dodge City Reenacts Longhorn Cattle Drive

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- One Kansas town went back in time and things got a little wild.

Dodge City held its 54th annual Dodge City Days. The 10 day tribute is to celebrate the city's wild west heritage.

This years celebration includes 50 events that celebrate history, folklore and the traditions of the american frontier. This year there is also a record setting recreation of the longhorn cattle drives of the 1800's. The 59 longhorns will be driven through town and end at the Roundup Arena which is home to the Dodge City Rodeo.

In addition to the cattle drive, the Dodge City Buffalo and Longhorn exhibit will open at the Boot Hill Casino and Resort.
