'Dirty Kanza' Bike Race Crowns Champ

EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW)-- It was a misty morning for 2,000 bike racers in Emporia Saturday as riders participated in the annual Dirty Kanza 200 and 100 mile race and racers really experienced some dirty conditions thanks to the recent rains.

For nearly a decade, The Dirty Kanza, a race on gravel roads throughout the flint hills has grown in popularity.

The race began at 6:00 a.m. and Yuri Hauswald was the eventual winner of the race.

The award ceremony was held Sunday morning.
