McPherson County, Kan. (KAKE)-- A former McPherson County sheriff's deputy could be charged this week after he was arrested for DUI last Friday.

McPherson County Sheriff Larry Powell said that around 12:30 p.m. Friday, deputies received a call on a driving complaint south of McPherson. They found and stopped the car in question, driven by Deputy Robert Zickafoose.

The 20-year veteran of the department was arrested for driving under the influence of prescription drugs. He has since bonded out, and been terminated by the sheriff's office.

The case is expected to be turned over to the county attorney's office later today. Zickafoose's first appearance in court has not yet been scheduled.
