Department Of Revenue Is Sending Out Mailers To Local Businesses

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- The Kansas Department Of Revenue is sending out mailers to local businesses about tax cuts enacted this year.

The mailings began on Wednesday, just days before the State's general election.

Yesterday House Democratic Leader Paul Davis criticized Republican Gov. Sam Brownback's Administration over the timing of the mailers.

The tax cuts will exempt the owners of 191,000 businesses from state income taxes.

A Revenue Department spokeswoman Jeannine Koranda says the brochures are designed to answer questions that revenue officials frequently get from business owners about the cuts.

Kondra said the mailings weren't coordinated with the Governor's Office.
