TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Two counts have been dismissed against a man arrested in connection with the July robbery and stabbing of a Shrine Bowl football player.

Daniel Wahquahboshkuk pleaded no contest Tuesday to attempted aggravated robbery armed with a dangerous weapon.

In exchange for the plea, one count of aggravated battery and one count of aggravated assault were dismissed.

Police say Waquahboshkuk and Martin Rodriguez attacked 18-year-old Brett Sterbach outside the Hudson Crossing convenience store.

A third defendant, George Martinez, is charged with driving the getaway vehicle.

Sentencing for Waquahboshkuk is set for February 14th.
