TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) -- Those who can't seem to find the time to make it to the DMV have another day to wait in line for customers' convenience.
Starting September 9, all DMV locations in Topeka, Wichita, Andover, Mission and Olathe will be open every Monday year-round.
The Kansas Department of Revenue made the change after Mondays in the summer were successful, with almost 6,000 people coming in.
"Almost 6,000 people took advantage of summer Mondays during the eight weeks that our Mission and Wichita offices were offering the additional hours this year," said Vehicles Director Donna Shelite. "We hope that year-round Mondays will be equally as successful."
The department has also installed a line management system to secure a place in line ahead of time without coming into the office. It was designed so that people don't have to sit and wait in one spot, or even be in the office.
People can join the line with their cell phone by texting 714-333-1234 or 626-609-1234 with Mission DL, Olathe DL, Topeka DL, Andover DL or Wichita DL.
Securing a spot can also be done online at www.ksrevenue.org/qless.html.
